Fence Project

We started the project in early August.
Scott and I dug up the sprinkler and moved it 4 feet farther into the yard.
Scott's first time using the jack-hammer!

The line of sod in the yard is where the sprinkler line was moved to.

Scott's parents came out to help during mid August!

Ledger board attached to the house, and rocks put down to prevent grass and weeds from growing underneath the deck.
Locating the posts.

Digging post holes with the auger!
Concrete poured in all of the holes, and beginning to attach posts.

My parents came out to help for a few days!  Beams are going on the posts.

Dad got in the crawl space and moved the position of the water spigot!

Leveling the posts and beams was quite the challenge.

Beginning to hang the joists.

Joists attached to the house and laid across the beams.

Adding blocking between the joists.

The joists made for a wonderful jungle-gym for Marissa.

All framed!  Afterwards, the joists were planed so the surface was level and ready for the decking.

Scott's array of tools.

Attaching the decking!  Notice the leaves have fallen off of the tree...

Scott is trying to finish the main part before the bad weather comes in...

It started snowing earlier than forecast...but still working!

Yes, that is snow in the screw bucket....
and the thousands of screws are almost used up :-)

So close!

Just a few more trim boards to attach.  Hoping for one more good weekend!
